TikTok has a long-term investment in the UK with a new office in London
The social media network TikTok has announced that it has signed a contract for a new office building in London.
TikTok UK, owned by international technology company Bytedance, has rented the entire kaleidoscope building above Farringdon East Crossrail Station.
The 88,500 square meter building, which was rented by real estate developer Helical, will be home to TikTok for the next 10 to 15 years.
TikTok intends to move to the building in early 2022, which will employ around 850 people in the UK.
Matthew Bonning-Snook, Property Director at Helical, commented, “We wanted to deliver an architecturally striking and characterful building that would suit the fast-growing creative and technology companies interested in this easily accessible location.
“Kaleidoscope offers this along with great amenities for tenants, including a spectacular rooftop terrace and strong environmental credentials, clearly responding to today’s demands for wellness and sustainability.
“As a platform for billions of developers worldwide, TikTok is a perfect company for both the building and the region’s drive to be a destination for culture and creativity.”
The real estate agents JLL and Pilcher London advised the landlord on the rental.
