Thugs attack police officers while helping an injured man on the London Underground
A police officer was rushed to hospital seriously injured after attacking a man who fell down an escalator on the London Underground.
Detectives are investigating the attack on a British transport officer at Camden Town underground station and have released pictures of two men they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
It happened around 11 p.m. on Sunday, shortly after England lost in the Euro 2020 final at Wembley, when a BTP official was handling a medical emergency after a man fell down an escalator. The officer was approached by two men who beat him and hit him in the head. He was treated in the hospital with fractures to his face and severe injuries to his shoulder and upper body.

Officials believe the men in the pictures may have information that could aid their investigation and asked witnesses to come forward.
Det Insp Gary Pinner said, “This violent attack took place while one of our officers was helping a citizen in need. As a result, he sustained serious injuries. No officer should be exposed to this while doing his or her job to ensure the safety of passengers across the network.
“Violent and abusive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated on the railway, be it towards the public, the railway staff or our officials.”
The police have asked anyone who recognizes the men or has information about the incident to report by SMS on 61016 or by phone on 0800 40 50 40, quoting the reference number 631 from 07.11.21.
