This week’s round up of London appointments includes the Maynard Design Group, Walr and Dubit. Read on to find out more.

Julian Robinson, The Maynard Design Group

As part of its international growth strategy The Maynard Design Group has welcomed Julian Robinson (pictured right), former head of architecture at The Elizabeth line (Crossrail) as a consultant to the team.

He joins with 30 years’ experience in transport design having previously worked on other flagship transport projects such as the Jubilee Line Extension and St Pancras International station. Julian’s new role will be to bring his strategic knowledge and delivery experience to the group and future clients.

Julian said: “I have known Julian for 25+ years since we worked side by side on the Jubilee Line Extension under the renowned architect Roland Paoletti. I led the Line wide team and Julian was the Architect at Canning Town Station.

“Crossrail gave us the opportunity to work together again, this time with Julian as our client. I am looking forward to this collaboration which will help us in the next steps of our growth strategy within the transport sector.”

Ben Walton, Walr

Walr, the res-tech company behind the Walr data creation platform, has appointed Ben Walton as its first chief commercial officer (CCO).

Ben joins with over twenty years’ experience in market research, most recently as CCO at System1 Research. Prior to this, Walton spent eight years at GfK where he had global responsibility for the creation and implementation of the go-to-market strategy for GfK’s Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based prescriptive analytics solution.

Ben commented: “The past year and a half have shown Walr’s amazing potential, and I am incredibly excited to be joining at such an early stage, and privileged to be able to continue this journey with the Walr team.

“It is a company that truly understands that tech needs to be front and centre, supported by great people; I look forward to helping put the infrastructure in place to allow Walr to fulfill his ambition.”

Lewis Reeves, Walr co-founder and CEO, added: “The right CCO isn’t easy to come by but in Ben, we’ve found a breakout star with the credentials and experience we need to support our goals.

Jon Vlassopulos, Dubit

Dubit, the creator of metaverse experiences, games, and events for brands, has announced the appointment of former Roblox VP, global head of music, Jon Vlassopulos, to its advisory board.

Jon joins following almost three years leading music initiatives at Roblox, which reaches over 200 million users a month with games and experiences, and where he remains an advisor. He will work with Dubit in a senior advisory capacity on future metaverse strategies, supporting its partnerships with brands, publishers, artists, and metaverse platforms.

Announcing the appointment, Matthew Warneford, CEO and Co-Founder of Dubit, commented: “We have had the pleasure of working closely with Jon and his team on multiple occasions over the past couple of years, and we’re thrilled he has chosen to join our advisory board.”
