The London Search and Rescue team is running a day-long bottle ride

LONDON, ONT. – The London Search and Rescue Team (LSAR) is hosting a one-day bottle ride on Saturday to support the nonprofit.

“We are 100 percent dependent on donations, we do not receive any government funding, so all 20 teams in Ontario are dependent on fundraising campaigns like bottle rides … LSAR.

The money from the campaign will be used to retrofit a command tag that will be used to transport equipment for rescue operations in London Ontario, as well as to improve communications and logistics capabilities, as well as other purposes.

“We are on call with the police for vulnerable or missing persons, we help them find them … we are on call 24/7, 365 days a year,” says Ireland.

The team accepts bottles and can do empties, bills of exchange and even Canadian dollars at two different locations.

Bottle Drives at Western University in the Huron Flats parking lot and in the Western Fair District on King and Rectory Streets are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“It is amazing that London is coming together. We have always been grateful for their continued support throughout our long history,” says Ireland.

London Search and Rescue would like to thank the following community partners: Western University, Western Fair District, London Food Bank and Lubnow Restoration DKI for sponsoring this event.
