Thank you London! Raised $65,000 for Sounds of the Season

It’s been a challenging year in many ways, but Londoners donated generously to support others in the community as part of CBC London’s annual fundraiser.

Sounds of the Season raised $65,682.93 to support the London Food Bank. That’s a record for the local campaign and we can’t thank you enough!

Across Ontario, CBC stations raised a total of $1.2 million for local food banks. A few people made significant donations, including Barbara Legate of London, who donated $50,000 to three different charities.

“Sounds of the Season has done so much more than just raise money. It has raised awareness of the city’s growing poverty and homelessness,” said Glen Pearson, Co-Executive Director of London Food Bank.

“Funds raised will go to our satellite program, which brings quality food baskets to food-insecure neighborhoods,” he said.

The hardship in London

Sounds of the Season is an opportunity for us at CBC London to focus on those in our community who need help and to give a voice to those who work hard every day to make a difference in lives.
