New Winter Olympics Challenge at QUEENS London! By Sofia Wilson, Farringtons School

For a limited time only, QUEENS is offering the opportunity to participate in their very own winter Olympics triathlon challenge! Get a taste of the much-loved winter sport: curling on the only all year-round ice rink in London, and bowl on the futuristic lanes that facilitate the rivalry of a triathlon. Finally, devour the ‘Olympic Rings’n’Burger’ accompanied by a hard-shake in under 50 seconds to take home the title!

This quirky take on the winter Olympics triathlon is “great value for money” and perfect for anyone looking for an unforgettable night out. The challenge is open to anyone over the age of 18 and is ideal for large groups who want to have a good time and chill at the bar afterwards. With a lively atmosphere and a good mix of clientele, it is an event suitable for everyone. The venue is a vast underground maze of entertainment, with an array of competitive activities spread throughout, with vibrant music, bar and restaurant providing a unique experience.

The first event is the curling, where you work in teams to try and guide the curling stone across the ice and onto the bullseye. There is a bar overlooking the ice rink, and drinks are welcome on the ice. The abundance of staff are very helpful and relaxed, whilst everyone is having a great time trying to balance on the slippery surface! It is very entertaining even as a spectator in the bar. Competitors must at least get 1 bullseye to work towards the title of triathlon champion.

Once you have mastered your curling skills, you must take each other on to achieve a minimum score of 150 points in the ten-pin bowling. Although difficult, it is not impossible!

The final activity is for anyone who loves a good burger! If you are still attempting to take home the title, then you have 50 seconds to demolish the ‘Olympic Rings’n’Burger’ and a delicious rum and raisin hard-shake.

With 5 mighty onions rings representing the Olympic rings, this part of the challenge is by far the most difficult. However, if you manage to complete all three parts of the competition, then you are entitled to a full refund of your ticket, but don’t underestimate the adversity of QUEENS’ unparalleled triathlon.

The winter Olympic triathlon is available on Thursday and Friday evenings until the 25th of March and is in high demand! The tickets are only £49.95 per person for the entire experience. £2 from every ticket sold is donated to the England Curling Juniors & Team GB Speed Skating to support their Olympic training programme.

This event is one of its kind and perfect for anyone who wants to have the best time and a great night out with friends! To book or for more details visit
