Latest London politics news: Boris Johnson promises ‘Brexit Freedoms Bill’ as wait for Partygate report continues

The report on suspected government lockdown-busting parties is expected to be released in redacted form this week after Met police asked for “minimal reference” to events the force is investigating.

Mr Johnson tried to take control of the agenda on Monday with a promise to “cut £1billion in red tape”.

It comes after the government confirmed a Social Security tax hike would take place from April, despite pressure from some Conservative backbenchers to delay or even scrap the hike.

Ministers are also reportedly considering scrapping the requirement for NHS staff to be fully vaccinated, which is due to come into force in April.
