Forbes 30 under 30 data shows that London is the best city in the world for young entrepreneurs

London has been named the best city in the world for young entrepreneurs based on the Forbes 30 Under 30 lists from Europe, North America, Russia, Asia and Africa.
Although North America is by far the most popular in providing Forbes Under 30 nominees, London is the most popular city for young entrepreneurs to thrive, business comparison platform Bionic found when analyzing the rankings.
In fact, many candidates on the North America, Asia and Russia lists live in London, the study found.
Considering different industries, city, country, college education and gender of each young entrepreneur, the researchers identified the best places to be if you have a young hungry entrepreneurial spirit.
London beat New York as the most popular city for successful young entrepreneurs to seek global success.

The top countries in the world to work for young entrepreneurs were North America (41 percent), the UK (14 percent), Russia (10 percent), India (7 percent) and China (2 percent). , according to the Forbes data.

Education is still the key
The best universities in the world for budding entrepreneurs were Stanford University (USA), Indian Institute of Technology (India), Harvard University (USA), University of California (USA) and Imperial College London (UK).
More than 86 percent of the candidates had college degrees, proving that a college education is still important to becoming a business leader.

Arts & Culture was the industry that engaged women the most, with 57 percent of entrepreneurs being women.
Despite being the most populous industries, manufacturing and technology were the least inclusive, with just 20 percent of entrepreneurs each being women
Overall, only 30 percent of Forbes under-30s were female. The average age of young entrepreneurs is 28 – there is no difference between men and women.

- 50% of all European young entrepreneurs came from Great Britain

- Germany was the second most popular place for young entrepreneurs (7%), followed by the Netherlands and Sweden (4%).

- The most popular cities were New York (92), San Francisco (88), Los Angeles (39), Brooklyn (14) and Boston (10), Berlin (10) and Chicago (10)

- 17% were female
- 41% came from India, 11% from China and 8% from Singapore and South Korea
- The average age for success is 26
- 23 (11%) attended the Indian Institute of Technology, making it by far the most popular Asian university. The National University of Singapore (3%) was the second most popular, but the rest of the entrepreneurs came from a more mixed spectrum
- Technology was the most popular industry (45%), followed by science and healthcare (14%).
Africa
- 40% came from South Africa and 20% from Nigeria
- 20% worked in Johannesburg
- Art & culture was the most popular branch for young entrepreneurs here
- 73% were male, 27% female
- The median age for success was 27 years
Russia
- In Russia, there were twice as many arts and culture entrepreneurs as in any other category. This includes young entrepreneurs working in sectors such as fashion and design, art and theatre
- The average age was 25
- 33% of the entrepreneurs were female
- Moscow is the best city to find success for young entrepreneurs in Russia
- 12% of candidates attended Moscow State University while 10% attended Moscow School of Economics.
